Pillar 1: Engagement and Outreach

  • Works with city leaders, neighbors, and partners to host violence prevention initiatives.
  • Connects residents to prevention services and those at greatest risk to intervention support.
  • Builds strong partnerships to share resources and avoid duplication.
  • Keeps in touch with the community to make sure programs meet their needs.

Pillar 2: Training and Development

  • Finds and manages grants to fund safety programs.
  • Oversees the Office’s budget and strategic goals.
  • Conducts training sessions on related safety and violence prevention topics.
  • Provides technical help to city staff and community groups working on safety, community engagement and violence reduction.

Pillar 3: Research and Strategic Planning

  • Collects and shares data about crime and prevention programs.
  • Tracks progress through yearly and five-year reports.
  • Builds advisory groups to review and improve programs.
  • Encourages partners to share data and work together for better results.
