- Works with city leaders, neighbors, and partners to host violence prevention initiatives.
- Connects residents to prevention services and those at greatest risk to intervention support.
- Builds strong partnerships to share resources and avoid duplication.
- Keeps in touch with the community to make sure programs meet their needs.
Pillar 2: Training and Development
- Finds and manages grants to fund safety programs.
- Oversees the Office’s budget and strategic goals.
- Conducts training sessions on related safety and violence prevention topics.
- Provides technical help to city staff and community groups working on safety, community engagement and violence reduction.
Pillar 3: Research and Strategic Planning
- Collects and shares data about crime and prevention programs.
- Tracks progress through yearly and five-year reports.
- Builds advisory groups to review and improve programs.
- Encourages partners to share data and work together for better results.
